PA & MD-based clubs join the initial lineup for the 2021 season; Grand Haven Admirals join Great Lakes Conference

METUCHEN, NJ – UWS League Two announces the formation of the Mid-Atlantic Conference composed of clubs located in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Four clubs will make up the newly formed conference: Annapolis United FC, Keystone FC, Lancaster Inferno, and Maryland-Elite SC. Meanwhile, the Great Lakes Conference welcomes the Grand Haven Admirals into UWS League Two for the upcoming 2021 season.

Annapolis United Football Club (AUFC) is based in Annapolis, Maryland. The vision of the club is to attract, identify, develop, and educate young gifted athletes in preparation for club, collegiate and professional careers. AUFC aspires to be a best in class sporting club while creating a significant positive change in the lives of our athletes, the experiences of our fans and the growth of their community.

United Women's Soccer UWS League Two UWS2 Keystone FC Pennsylvania

Keystone FC is based out of Mechanicsburg, PA and has seen tremendous growth over the past five years at the youth levels.  Finding success on the state, regional, and national levels, Keystone FC's commitment to its mission has allowed the club to thrive. As the club has grown from 16 teams to over 60 teams, Keystone FC's focus has continued to remain player-centric while embracing team-first values. The development of its players has been recognized throughout the country as its alumni are now scattered throughout NCAA Division 1, 2, and 3 rosters. 

“Keystone FC is excited to join the UWS and thankful for acceptance into the inaugural UWS League 2 season,” said Executive Director Sean Cochran. “Over the past five years, we have worked hard in achieving our mission to ‘develop high-quality soccer players.’ For us, it seemed to be a natural next step to expand our offerings at the senior level on the women's side. With the number of quality players in the local area, we believe that our Under 23 women's team can thrive in the UWS and are looking forward to getting started.”

United Women's Soccer UWS League Two UWS2 Lancaster Inferno FC Lanc PA Pennsylvania

Lancaster Inferno will field a reserve team in UWS League Two in addition to having their first team compete in the UWS national pro-am league. The reserve squad features current/post college players and high school standouts looking to play at the next level. The Lancaster, PA-based women’s soccer club aims to provide the highest level development and playing experience in the area.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the young ladies that are a part of Inferno reserves to play in meaningful competition in UWS League Two,” said Coach Rob Smith. “It allows us to create a pathway of development that was missing. In addition, it will provide additional exposure to our players and allow college coaches to see our younger players that train and compete against college level talent.”

United Women's Soccer UWS League Two UWS2 Maryland-Elite FC Maryland

Maryland-Elite Soccer Club was founded in 2010 with a mission to provide the region's most talented, driven, and dedicated youth soccer players with an unparalleled soccer program; designed with a "pro player development" mindset and operated by a full-time Professional Technical Staff. Maryland-Elite SC focuses on turning individual players into the best possible version of themselves and the club trains players with the goal of promoting them to and developing them into successful collegiate and professional players. Based out of Southern Maryland, Maryland-Elite SC will now, through their partnership with UWS, be able to provide youth players with a direct pipeline into a pro-am league.

"Maryland-Elite SC is looking forward to competing in the United Women's Soccer (UWS) League Two for the 2021 inaugural season,” said Executive Director Hailey Williams. “So much talent derives from Southern Maryland and now those talented players will have the chance to come together and showcase themselves and their hometown"

Grand Haven Admirals join the Great Lakes Conference for the 2021 season. The conference features six other teams that hail from the state of Michigan: AFC Plymouth, Corktown AFC, Legends FC, Livonia City FC, North Oakland SC, and Rebels FC.

“The Grand Haven Admirals are extremely excited and humbled to be in a position to join UWS2 for the 2021 season,” said Club President Kody Harrell. “This will be our Inaugural season and the UWS2 is the perfect match because their passion to grow the women's game matches ours. We want to give our community the ultimate family experience and provide a platform for these talented and amazing women to be leaders in our community. Our motto is showcasing local talent! The players, our partners, the fans, the businesses, and show the country how amazing Grand Haven, MI is through the beautiful game! Ignite The Light!”
