Big weekend slate lined up for sixth week of United Women’s Soccer action 

Metuchen, N.J. -- The sixth week of United Women’s Soccer features many headline-grabbing matchups, including several local rivalry games and top-of-the-table clashes. 

Central Conference 

Great Lakes Division

Friday, June 17 

Muskegon Risers vs Cap City Athletic 

Start Time: 7:00 EST 

Venue: Oakridge High School (Muskegon, Michigan) 

The action begins in Muskegon in the Great Lakes Division this weekend, where the home side will be fighting hard for its first points of the 2022 campaign. Cap City Athletic will be hoping to secure an important road victory that could push the UWS rookies all the way up to second place if other results break in their favor. 

Sunday, June 19

Michigan Jaguars vs Nationals FC 

Start Time: 5:30 EST 

Venue: Walled Lake Central (Commerce, Michigan) 

Second and third place in the Great Lakes Division collide on Sunday with only one point separating them in the standings, making this a key match for both sides. This should be a competitive contest with the two teams playing to a 1-1 draw in their first meeting. 

Heartland Division 

Saturday, June 18

Gretna Elite vs KC Courage 

Start Time: 2:00 CST 

Venue: Caniglia Field (Omaha, Nebraska) 

A critical match is set for Saturday afternoon in Omaha, where second-placed KC Courage visits third-placed Gretna Elite. FC Wichita’s draw in midweek action opens the door for KC Courage to go to the top of the table with a win, while Gretna Elite can pull within a point of the top spot with a victory here. 

Side FC 92 vs Sporting Nebraska 

Start Time: 3:00 CST 

Venue: Case Community Soccer Complex (Sand Springs, Oklahoma) 

Sporting Nebraska takes the trip to Oklahoma for a clash with Side FC 92. The visitors have played well during their first season in UWS, holding division leaders FC Wichita to a draw on Wednesday. Side FC 92 will be looking for its second win in a row following a difficult start to the year. 

Arkansas Comets vs Arkansas Wolves 

Start Time: 6:00 CST

Venue: Har-Ber Wildcat Stadium (Sprindale, Arkansas) 

UWS’s two Arkansas-based clubs meet for the first time in their debut seasons on Saturday in Sprindale. It’s sure to be an intense matchup with local bragging rights on the line and both clubs looking for their first victory at this level. 

Sunday, June 19

Arkansas Comets vs Sporting Nebraska 

Start Time: 12:00 CST 

Venue: Har-Ber Wildcat Stadium (Sprindale, Arkansas) 

Arkansas Comets will head right back to Har-Ber Wildcat Stadium on Sunday to take on another opponent for the first time in UWS. Sporting Nebraska, also playing for the second time in two days, will make the trip looking to keep its impressive debut season going. 

Midwest Division

Friday, June 17 

Illinois Premier vs St. Louis SG 

Start Time: 6:00 CST 

Venue: John Hersey High School (Arlington Heights, Illinois) 

St. Louis SG hits the road looking for three points to keep the pressure on Chicago Mustangs in the Midwest Division. Illinois Premier comes into this contest seeking its first goal at the UWS level, having gone scoreless through its first two games. 

RBFC Elite vs Indiana Union 

Start Time: 6:00 CST 

Venue: Riverside Brookfield High School (Riverside, Illinois) 

RBFC Elite and Indiana Union will play the first of back-to-back contests on Friday. Indiana Union will be out to collect three points and stay within range of St. Louis SG in second place, while RBFC will have the support of its home fans as it fights for its first UWS win.

Saturday, June 18 

Chicago Mustangs vs St. Louis SG 

Start Time: 11:00 (a.m.) CST 

Venue: Olympic Park (Schaumburg, Illinois) 

One of the headline matchups of the weekend will take place Saturday morning between Chicago Mustangs and St. Louis SG. Featuring UWS’s joint-top goalscorer, Mallory Olsson, Chicago Mustangs will put their perfect season and Midwest Division lead on the line against second-place St. Louis SG, a side playing its second road game in two days. 

Indiana Union vs RBFC Elite

Start Time: 1:00 CST 

Venue: Trinity Sports Park (Noblesville, Indiana) 

RBFC Elite and Indiana Union will play for the second time in under 24 hours on Saturday afternoon as they both look for momentum for the season’s home stretch. This time, Indiana Union can bank on the support of its home fans. 

East Conference 

Mid-Atlantic Division 

Friday, June 17

Keystone FC vs NJ Copa FC 

Start Time: 6:45 EST 

Venue: Memorial Park Stadium (Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania) 

Keystone FC will play in front of its home fans for the first time since its arrival in UWS when it welcomes NJ Copa for a Friday night clash. The hosts showed well in a narrow defeat in their first contest of the season, while NJ Copa FC will be looking to jumpstart its campaign after a difficult start. 

Paisley Athletic vs Coppermine United 

Start Time: 7:00 EST 

Venue: Kearny High School (Kearny, New Jersey) 

Coppermine United will have designs on securing a fifth win from five games in its UWS tenure when it hits the road to take on fellow UWS rookies Paisley Athletic FC. The hosts bested NJ Copa FC in midweek action, and will hope to see that momentum carry over into the weekend. 

Saturday, June 18 

Lancaster Inferno vs Keystone FC 

Start Time: 5:00 EST 

Venue: Conestoga Valley High School (Lancaster, Pennsylvania) 

A central Pennsylvania rivalry will take hold for the first time as Lancaster Inferno hosts Keystone FC in the first meeting between the two clubs. Lancaster Inferno sits atop the table in the Mid-Atlantic, and will be looking to stave off a push from Coppermine United. Keystone FC will view this as a major opportunity to collect a statement win in its third game at this level. 

New England Division 

Friday, June 17 

CT Rush vs Albany Rush 

Start Time: 7:00 EST 

Venue: Guilford High School (Guilford, Connecticut) 

CT Rush and Albany Rush collide for the second time in a week on Friday to begin action in the New England Division for the weekend. Albany Rush dominated that game, but will need to repeat that performance on the road this time around. CT Rush, meanwhile, will hope to collect its second win of the season in front of its home fans. 

Scorpions SC vs NE Mutiny 

Start TIme: 7:00 EST

Venue: Medway High School (Medway, Massachusetts) 

Tied atop the UWS leaderboard with eight goals this season, Catherine Barry leads NE Mutiny into a road contest against Scorpions SC. NE Mutiny has five wins from five games so far this season, and a comfortable lead in the New England Division. SC Scorpions, playing excellent soccer as of late, will see this as a chance to exact revenge for an early season defeat. 

Saturday, June 18

Worcester Smiles vs CT Fusion 

Start Time: 7:00 EST 

Venue: Commerce Bank Field at Foley Stadium (Worcester, Massachusetts) 

Worcester Smiles play host to last season’s UWS national runner-up on Saturday, looking for their first victory of the 2022 season. CT Fusion has just one victory in its last four games, and will hope to see its form turn around with a victory here. 

Sunday, June 19 

Scorpions SC vs Albany Rush 

Start Time: 4:00 EST 

Venue: Medway High School (Medway, Massachusetts) 

Both Scorpions SC and Albany Rush will play their second match of the weekend on Sunday, as second and third place meet in Medway. Both of these squads are among the in-form teams across UWS, making this an extremely interesting matchup to close out play in the New England Division this week. 

Penn-NY Division 

Saturday, June 18 

FC Buffalo vs FC Berlin 

Start Time: 3:00 EST 

Venue: Robert Rich Sr All-High Stadium (Buffalo, New York)

Buffalo bragging rights are on the line once again as FC Buffalo and FC Berlin meet for the second time this season. FC Buffalo took the win the first time around, and currently holds a one-point advantage at the top of the division, while FC Berlin will hope to insert itself into the conversation with three big points here. 

Pittsburgh Hotspurs vs Rochester Lancers 

Start Time: 7:00 EST 

Venue: Founders Field (Cheswick, Pennsylvania) 

Rochester Lancers bring their three-game unbeaten run into Western Pennsylvania for a meeting with Pittsburgh Hotspurs. Rochester Lancers sit only three points off the lead in the division and hold a game in hand. Pittsburgh Hotspurs have proven to be more than capable of scoring at the UWS level, with nine goals to their name, but will need to improve their defense as they seek out their first UWS win. 

Sunday, June 19 

FC Berlin vs Erie Commodores 

Start Time: 1:00 EST 

Venue: Coyer Field at Buffalo State (Buffalo, New York) 

FC Berlin closes out a busy weekend by hosting second-place Erie Commodores on Sunday afternoon. Erie Commodores are unbeaten in their five UWS games so far, with two wins and three draws on their ledger. Just one point behind FC Buffalo entering the weekend, every point is vital here. 

South Conference 

Southeast Division 

Saturday, June 18 

Atlanta Panthers vs Atlanta Fire 

Start Time: 6:30 EST 

Venue: Marietta High School (Marietta, Georgia) 

It’s a big night for women’s soccer in the state of Georgia, as Atlanta Panthers and Atlanta Fire United come together for the first time as members of UWS. Atlanta Panthers have two wins from two games to start their season, while Atlanta Fire has a win and a draw on its ledger in its first two UWS matches. 

Southwest Division 

Friday, June 17 

SA Runners vs SA Athenians 

Start Time: 7:30 CST 

Venue: Wheatley Heights Sports Complex (San Antonio, Texas) 

Yet another local clash is set for Friday in the Southwest Division, this one taking place between SA Runners and SA Athenians. SA Athenians won the first contest between these two teams handily earlier this season, but SA Runners can bank on home-field advantage as they look to even the score. 

WilCo FC vs Luxoria FC 

Start Time: 7:30 CST

Venue: Round Rock Multipurpose Complex (Round Rock, Texas) 

WilCo FC and Luxoria FC meet for the second time in as many weeks on Friday with third place in the division on the line. Luxoria FC dominated the first meeting between these two clubs, 6-0, meaning WilCo FC will undoubtedly have revenge on its mind for this one. 

Saturday, June 18 

CTX Hornets vs Luxoria FC 

Start Time: 7:30 CST 

Venue: Bob Shelton Stadium (Buda, Texas) 

Luxoria FC heads right back on the road for a Saturday night matchup against CTX Hornets in what will be the first meeting between these clubs in UWS. CTX Hornets will be back in front of their home fans as they continue their search for their first victory of 2022. 

Sunday, June 19 

FC Austin Elite vs WilCo FC 

Start Time: 7:30 CST 

Venue: Round Rock Multipurpose Complex (Round Rock, Texas) 

FC Austin Elite puts its unbeaten record to the test on Sunday against WilCo FC. With one of the best defensive records in UWS, FC Austin Elite has conceded just twice in five contests, and as a result holds a three-point lead at the top of the table. WilCo FC will be looking to join the divisional race and make a major statement with a win here. 

West Conference 

Saturday, June 18

FC Arizona vs SC Blue Heat 

Start Time: 7:30 MST 

Venue: Legacy Sports Complex (Mesa, Arizona) 

Unbeaten UWS rookies FC Arizona will have a big test on their hands when they welcome SC Blue Heat, the defending UWS National Champions, to Mesa for a key clash. SC Blue Heat will be looking to recover from its first defeat this season to Calgary Foothills with three points here. 

Sunday, June 19

FC Arizona vs Los Angeles SC 

Start Time: 7:30 MST 

Venue: Legacy Sports Complex (Mesa, Arizona) 

FC Arizona welcomes another foe from Southern California as Los Angeles SC comes to town to close out the action in the West Conference for the week. This will be the first matchup at the UWS level between these two clubs.
