Lancaster Inferno Medical Staff
Lancaster Inferno’s medical staff is provided by the Sports Medicine team at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health.
Their dedicated sports medicine center provides non-surgical care for a wide range of injuries to bone, muscle, and other soft tissues, along with concussion management and screening for cardiac issues in athletes. In addition, the physicans are fellowship-trained in sports medicine, and have experience working with professional, college and high school sports athletes.
Ryan C. Wennell, DO, CAQSM
Dr. Wennell is a graduate of Virginia Tech’s School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency and was selected for a sports medicine fellowship at Wellspan York Hospital. Dr. Wennell enjoys traveling with his wife, golfing, and yoga practice.
The most amazing visit- all questions answered- no rushing- resolved & changed medicine – happy ending.
In addition to acting as a team doctor for Lancaster Inferno, Dr. Wennell is a medical consultant for USA Weight lifting and USA handball.
Patrick J. Moreno, MD, CAQSM, RMSK
The art of medicine begins by understanding an individual in the context of their family and community. This is the cornerstone to a partnership that helps keep patients active and allows them to reach wellness goals.
Dr. Moreno is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine and the Lancaster General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Crozer-Keystone Health System.
In addition to working with the Lancaster Inferno, Dr. Moreno is a medical consultant for USA Field Hockey and the Lancaster Barnstormers, and is a team physician for Lancaster Mennonite High School.
Jennifer Payne, MD, CAQSM
Dr. Payne is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine and the Lancaster General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program. She served a fellowship in sports medicine at York Hospital.
Dr. Payne was wonderful! She took the time to finish a complete exam and review her diagnosis and recommended treatment with me.
In addition to acting as a team doctor for the Inferno, Dr. Payne is a consultant for USA Weightlifting and a team physician with Dutchland Rollers.
