Inferno Secures 4-0 Win Over Richmond Ivy

Inferno Posts Fourth-Straight Win in Shutout Fashion, Shifts Sights to Next Game Sunday

Lancaster, PA – Lancaster Inferno improves to 4-1-0 as they shutout Richmond Ivy 4-0 on Friday, June 7 at Franklin & Marshall’s Tylus Field. The Inferno have hit their stride as they navigate their inaugural year competing in the USL W League, extending their current win streak to four. Watch the full match HERE.

Inferno Head Coach Stephanie Cleaves’ starting 11 included Carly Keene (Penn Manor HS/Lehigh), Jessica Weinoldt (Hempfield HS/McDaniel), Ryelle Shuey (ELCO HS/Lehigh), Jackie Richards (Exeter HS/Villanova), Teresa Rook (JMU/Ottawa Fury), Rachel Eberly (Cocalico HS/George Mason), Rachel Ludwick (York Suburban HS/Monmouth), Kayla Keefer (Central Columbia HS/Ole Miss), Marissa DiGenova (Temple alum/Caribbean Stars), Natalie Magnotta (Episcopal/Penn State) with Ellie Breech (Cumberland Valley HS/Pitt) in goal. The Inferno offense was red hot through all 90 minutes Friday evening. Forward Kayla Keefer scored the first goal of the night right before halftime with an assist from Rachel Ludwick. Marissa DiGenova hustled to get the second goal of the match off a pass from Keefer from the endline. Carolyn Hinkle added to the heat of the offense with goal number three off of a pass from Keefer in the 73rd minute and Taylor Mentzer put the cherry on top with the fourth goal of the night off of an assist from Maddie Levy. The Inferno held an Instagram & Facebook story poll @lancinferno for fans to vote on “Player of the Match.” Keefer, DiGenova and Keene were up for the vote, and 59% of fans voted for Keefer to be awarded the Lusk & Associates Player of the Match for the Lancaster Inferno for the third straight game.

The Inferno will be back in action Sunday night at 6 p.m. when they take on Patuxent FA (0-5-0) at Anne Arundel Community College – Siegert Field (Arnold, MD).
