Lancaster, PA — Lancaster Inferno is pleased to announce that their U23 team will be competing in the CASA Women’s Premier League this upcoming summer. The league will kick off it’s inaugural season in June of 2025 featuring regional competition for current and post college players.
“CASA is thrilled to announce Lancaster Inferno as one of the teams competing in our new U23 Women’s Premier League,” said Director of Women’s+ Soccer Kristin Lepley. “The U23 WPL is a space for high-level competition and the Inferno is sure to bring exactly that!”
The Inferno launched its U23 team in 2019 and competed in UWS League Two from 2021-24 winning 3 conference championship titles under Head Coach Wendell Hannaford. The team primarily features current and post college players along with a few high school standouts.
“We are excited to be part of the CASA U23 WPL inaugural season and continue offering our players another development opportunity during the summer months,” said President Francisco Cleaves. “The league aligns with our pathway to the pre-professional level.”
The U23 team sits above the U19 USL Academy team in the club pyramid as a pathway to Inferno’s first team which competes in the USL W League. Tryouts for the first team and U23 team will take place on Monday, December 30th from 12-2pm at Spooky Nook Sports. More information can be found: HERE.
