June 19, 2025 — Lancaster Inferno fell to Eagle FC 2-1 with goals from midfielder and player of the match Ryelle Shuey.
Despite the first half remaining scoreless, it was full of action and opportunity for the Inferno squad. Inferno maintained 53% possession over Eagle and challenged them early on with 66% of their shots being on the frame of the goal.
In the 4th minute goalkeeper Kamryn Stablein led the attack by finding Sonya Franklin, providing a through ball to forward Mackenzie Mentzer who had a 1v1 opportunity with Eagle FC goalkeeper Malene Nielsen that just went wide of the frame.
Later on in the 16th minute Rachel Eberly, took a shot outside the 18-yard-box forcing Malene Nielsen to push it over the crossbar. Eagle FC ended the half with forward Emily Banashefski taking a shot off a freekick that Kamryn Stablein saved cleanly. Stablein ended the half with five saves.
Eagle FC was awarded a penalty kick after defender Jessica Weinoldt collided with forward Megan in the six-yard-box, and forward Justyce Hollenbach stepped up and scored the first goal within regulation.
Lancaster responded within fifteen minutes, midfielder Rachel Eberly found Rylle Shuey at the back post who headed the ball off of a freekick—tying up the game.
Later on, a collision between defender Finely Lavin and forward Richsya Walker awarded Lancaster a penalty kick. Annabelle Wunderlich took the penalty which was saved by Malene Nielsen.
Despite expectations, Eagle FC forward Gabrielle Eckroth was able to finish the game in the 89th minute off of rebound—resulting in a 2-1 loss for Inferno.
