“It was very important for us to have Teresa help lead this team in its inaugural season and set the standards needed to succeed at this level,” said President/GM Francisco Cleaves.

Teresa (Rynier) Rook is a local legend, and the second women’s professional soccer player to come out of Lancaster County. She is the co-captain of Lancaster Inferno’s USL W League Team. She is also in the Conestoga Valley HS Hall of Fame and James Madison University Hall of Fame where she earned numerous accolades including setting the program’s assist record (53) and making All-American. Teresa was drafted by the Philadelphia Independence following her college career, played for the Ottawa Fury in the USL W-League, and later signed professional contracts in Sweden and Iceland.

In addition, Teresa serves as Inferno’s Youth Club Director and has 10+ years of coaching experience at the college, high school, and youth travel soccer levels. She is pursuing her US Soccer C License. Teresa holds a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Millersville University and is a second grade teacher at Penn Manor School District.

“It has been an honor growing our club and coaching our players,” said Coach Teresa Rook. “I look forward to being a part of the USL Academy coaching staff. The players we are selecting for this team want to play at the highest level and are committed to hard work and dedication. That drives me to help those players reach their best potential. Our Academy players are the future of our women’s team and I can’t wait to help develop that talent.”

Lancaster Inferno FC is holding their second tryout for players ages U15-U19 (2010-2006 birth years) to identify local talent for its U19 Academy team. The tryout will be held on Thursday, March 28th from 6:00-7:30 PM at Manheim Township Athletic Complex (Weaver Fields).
