John Snavely joins Youth Coaching Staff

Lancaster, PA – Lancaster Inferno FC is pleased to welcome John Snavely to the coaching staff of their year round all-girls travel soccer club. John will also serve as a coach of the new Inferno Sparks program with Club Director Teresa (Rynier) Rook this June through July.

“Lancaster Inferno has a long history in the Central PA soccer community,” said Coach John Snavely. “I’m excited to join the youth coaching staff in a club that has established one of the top women’s programs in the nation.”

John Snavely holds his US Soccer National E License and has over 20 years of coaching experience with U6-19 girls and boys teams.

He was previously a member of the coaching staff with the Manheim Central Boys program from 2009-2022 . First with the Middle School team until 2013, and then with the High School team as the lead assistant coach and JV head coach. During his time with the program, John led the JV team to back to back section titles in 2019 and 2020. He also helped guide the Varsity team to 7 district playoff appearances in 10 years including a district runner up finish in 2017. Manheim Central also won the 2018 section title and were league semi finalists in 2014 and 2021. In addition, John has coached club soccer for Manheim Area SC for the last 14 years.

John is a Lancaster County native and graduated from Manheim Central HS where he was a two-year starter and captain. He was part of the travel programs at Manheim Area SC and Lanco United during his youth club career. He also was an EPYSA state cup champion and participated in the Haarlem Cup in the Netherlands during high school.

John is an alumni of Roger Williams University where he was a member of their Track & Field team. He is a licensed architect and the Vice President of the Mulá Group, an architecture firm based in York and Lancaster. John resides in Manheim with his wife, Emily, and their four daughters.

“John has the experience and ideals we want to see at our club,” said Youth Club Director, Teresa Rook. “He wants to help build our program and support the female role models in our sport for the little girls he is raising at home. John’s time playing and coaching have molded him into a leader that we want at Lancaster Inferno FC.”
