MATCHDAY RECAP: Lancaster Inferno 3, Patuxent Football Club 1 

June 15, 2025 —  Lancaster Inferno beat Patuxent Football Club at home 3-1 with goals from Carsyn Boyer and Mackenzie Mentzer. 

In the first half, Lancaster challenged Patuxent early providing 9 total opportunities on goal within the first 15 minutes including Addisyn Martin taking a right footed shot—going wide of the frame of the goal. 

Not long after, forward Ricshya Walker won possession off of a goal kick and provided a through ball to Carsyn Boyer who took an angled shot and scored her second goal this season. 

In the 32nd minute, Patuxent was awarded with a penalty kick via a handball in the box by defender Gabrielle Gayle. Defender Christa Waterman stepped up to face goalkeeper Kamryn Stablein and put Patuxent on the board. 

The rain picked up in the second half, but that didn’t stop Rachel Eberly from taking advantage of the weather from 35 yards out on a free kick—scoring in the 49th minute. The ball deflected off of defender Diane Tchanko who went up for a header. 

Patuxent responded with a shot outside the 18 yard-box, forcing Kamryn Stablein to push the ball over the crossbar. 

In the 78th minute, substitute Ahsia Thomas found herself behind the backline after being served a ball from Ricshya Walker. She took a shot outside of the box causing goalkeeper Kaelyn 

Richardson to make a save. However, forward Mackenzie Mentzer was there to finish the rebound putting Lancaster at 3-1 to conclude the game. 

Inferno is in fourth place with a 3-3-0. 

Upcoming Events 

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. EST, Lancaster Inferno is back at home to host a BLUE OUT game against rival’s Eagles FC at Clipper Magazine Stadium – Penn Medicine Park. During the last game against Eagles FC, Inferno fell 2-1 with Eagle’s forwards Justyce Hollenback scoring in the first half and Ashley Henderson scoring in the second half. Inferno forward Ricshya Walker hit a right footed shot outside the box, hitting the top left corner past goalkeeper Malene Neilsen. 

Eagle’s FC is in first place with a 5-1-0 record. In order to compete for playoffs, Inferno will need to win the rest of their games—putting themselves at the top of the Mid-Atlantic Division.
